Each employment assignment or placement arising as a result of an introduction made by Dobbies Garden Centres Limited will be subject to our standard Terms of Business as they are applicable in the circumstances. All prospective employers and clients for whom we arrange assignments or placements will be provided with a copy of the Terms of Business applicable to them at or following registration. Why do we process this personal data?

We process this Personal Data as necessary to aid the recruitment Process. Processing this data allows us to manage the recruitment process, assess and confirm a candidate's suitability for employment.

In some cases, we need to process data to ensure that we are complying with its legal obligations. For example, it is mandatory to check a successful applicant's eligibility to work in the UK before employment starts. We may also need to process data from job applicants to respond to and defend against legal claims.

If your application is unsuccessful, we will keep your personal data on file in case there are future employment opportunities for which you may be suited. If you do not wish for your data to be retained then you have the right to remove your account and all associated data.

 

How long does the company keep data for?

Your data will be retained for no longer than is necessary and in accordance with our Data Retention Policy. If your application for employment was unsuccessful then we will retain your data for up to 12 months in case there are future employment opportunities for which you may be suited. After this time you will be emailed asking if you wish your data to be kept a further 12 months. If we do not get a response from you then your data will be deleted or destroyed.

If your application for employment is successful then your personal data will be retained during your employment. The periods for which your data is held after the end of employment is 6 years.

 

Who Has Access to Data?

Your information will be shared internally, including HR, Payroll, Finance and Legal.

The Company shares your data with third parties where required by law or as part of the hiring process, where it is necessary in order to administer the working relationship with you or where we have another legitimate interest in doing so. The following services are carried out by third party service providers such as the payroll bureau, pension providers and benefit providers.
